In collaboration with our partners, we administer fellowships and research grants that create new relevant knowledge, support emerging fields of study that illuminate and address new societal challenges, produce and translate timely, accessible, and actionable research that is responsive to stakeholder needs, build innovation networks connecting researchers, practitioners, and stakeholders, foster talent pipelines for new generations of researchers and innovators, and provide efficient and responsive fiscal sponsorship for mission-adjacent projects.

How we work
Explore Our History
For 100 years the Social Science Research Council has connected the public, private, and nonprofit sectors to social scientists working to illuminate and address our most pressing societal challenges.
Mobilizing social science for the public good
In our work we mobilize our extensive global network of over 250,000 researchers in the Council’s seven founding disciplinary associations, faculty and institutional leaders from member institutions in the College and University Fund for the Social Sciences, and our many funding partners.
